1st ETSI (European Telecommunication Standardization Institute) co-founded & endorsed ICT Interoperability laboratory
Sintesio is an open, not-for-profit foundation, co-founded by the ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), SIST (Slovenian Institute for Standardization), and Iskratel, a Slovenian telecommunication vendor. The aim of the Foundation is to promote open standards, interoperability in multi-vendor/multioperator environments, to support standardization efforts and to facilitate vendors collaboration in the area of NGN telecommunication technologies and standardization. The Foundation set up the interoperability test lab, located in Kranj, Slovenia, with the purpose to test and validate interoperability of multi-vendor ICT products, as well as to validate the quality of open ICT standards, especially in the NGN, IMS and 3GPP domains. The test lab provides a professional, industry grade test bed facility, with versatile wireline and wireless access networks, Core IP backbone, as well as an access to commercial core IMS and open IMS subsystems.
The aim of the test lab is to support associations in Telecom damain (standardization delivery organizations, industry forums, users associations), vendors, operators, application developers, service providers in developing, testing and verifying open-specifications/standards and products which implementation is based on those specifications. Sintesio provides neutral, multi-vendor test lab environment, administrative and technical services and support for organizing and executing multi-vendor interoperability testing events, as well as a permanent test site to host long term (at least 12 months) multi-vendor or/and multi-operator testing and validation projects.
The test laboratory staff provides testing, consulting and training services and support preparation and organization of interoperability test events and to host multiple vendors who may perform conformance, inter-working and interoperability testing in multi-vendor environments for a set of products/equipments which implementation is based on the set of NGN, TISPAN and 3GPP standards.
Through the years of operation, Sintesio has evolved into a project-driven organization which is effectively engaging internal and external resources from the partnership organizations in implementing various customer projects in the field of conformance and interoperability testing, type approval testing, consulting and trainings.
The aim of the Foundation is to promote open standards, interoperability in multi-vendor/multi-operator environments, to develop open test suites and tools for conformance and interoperability, and to support standardization efforts and to facilitate vendors collaboration in the area of NGN telecommunication technologies and standardization.
The Foundations’s mission is to provide moral, organisational, technical and financial support to the development of standardisation ICT activity in general as well as its implementation in companies, public institutions, foundations and other legal persons, both in the Republic of Slovenia and abroad.
