Sintesio Profile

SINTESIO is an open, non-profit NGN test laboratory, endorsed by European Telecommunication Standardization Institute (ETSI), and co-founded by industry partners, standardization institutions, and university.

The aim of the test laboratory is to prepare, organize and execute conformance, interworking and interoperability testing based on the set of NGN standards. SINTESIO test site is primarily focusing on the interoperability between multiple softswitches, as the fundamental building blocks of the PSTN/ISDN Emulation Subsystem, and between softswitches and (signalling, access, residential, trunking) gateways. While the main attention is paid to interoperability testing of products, which implementation match recommendations of TISPAN NGN Release 1 definitions and functionalities, the interworking of a TISPAN based NGN network elements with other networks (e.g. legacy PSTN/ISDN, other NGN) will also be in a scope.
